Africa's betting and gaming industry now has its own conference season, with major summits in Cape Town, Nairobi and Dakar. This calendar lists the confirmed dates for 2027 events that matter to African operators, suppliers, affiliates and regulators. We update it as organisers announce new dates.

Last updated: 23 October 2026. Organisers sometimes change dates or venues, so always check the official event website before booking travel.

SiGMA Africa 2027 – Cape Town, 15–17 February

SiGMA Africa returns to Cape Town from 15 to 17 February 2027 at The Grand Arena, GrandWest Casino and Entertainment World. The 2026 edition ran from 3 to 5 March 2026, also in Cape Town. SiGMA says the summit is endorsed by gambling authorities in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and South Africa, which makes it one of the few events where African regulators, operators and suppliers meet in one place.

Who should go: operators and suppliers targeting South Africa and East Africa, affiliates, payment providers and anyone following South Africa's licensing and tax changes. For background, see our article on South Africa's proposed 20% online gambling tax, whose final design is due in the same month.

iGaming AFRIKA Summit 2027 – Nairobi, 4–6 May

The iGaming AFRIKA Summit returns to the Sarit Expo Centre in Nairobi from 4 to 6 May 2027, after its first edition at the same venue on 4–6 May 2026. Organiser iGA Events describes it as a gathering for the whole African gaming sector, with a strong East African focus.

Who should go: anyone operating or planning to enter Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania or Rwanda. Kenya's new licensing rules and the court case over licence fees are likely to be major talking points. Our guide to Kenya's betting rules in 2026 covers the background.

ICE Barcelona 2027 – 18–20 January

ICE is one of the world's biggest gaming trade shows, held at Fira Barcelona Gran Via. It is not an African event, but African summits and delegations attend it, and many suppliers launch products there before taking them to African markets.

Tips for attending African iGaming events

  • Book early. Hotels near the venues in Cape Town and Nairobi fill quickly during summit weeks.
  • Check visa rules early. Requirements differ by nationality, so check them as soon as you plan to attend.
  • Plan meetings before you fly. Most deals at these events come from meetings booked through the event app or LinkedIn in the weeks before.
  • Know the local rules. Licensing, tax and advertising rules differ sharply between countries. Come prepared for the market you want to enter.
